try raising a child who was born with his frontal lobe protruding from his malformed skull into a sac. Lose your house and all your possessions in a war, come to America without a cent, looking for medical help, not knowing a word of english, get a job for $10K a year working full time and raising a family while undergoing culture shock. I'm sure most couldn't even handle the living on $10K part. The above story is not my own but is true!

I would dearly love to liberate American Business from all the special tax deductions, benefits and credits, hinkey accounting rules, govt. subsidies and assistance programs and protectionist trade policies. But, I don't think American Business wants to quite "that" free. In fact I think American Business would scream bloody murder. So, if American Business can get govt. support why not the American Worker? When employers fail to pay a living wage we all pay, either through largely ineffective fraud ridden programs like EIC, high real estate or personal property taxes to service the poor on a local level and/or as victims of crime. >>>Things like EIC and minimum wage serve only to keep a a political power base imo.<<< These kinds of programs prevent class warfare. That's how I see them as "maintaining a power base." >>>Govt cannot solve that problem its been tried its more commonly know as communisim or socialisim.<<< No. You get communism or socialism, the REAL thing, when you fail to solve the problem. As a middleclass taxpayer I want employers to pay a living wage so I don't have to subsidize their appetite for bargain labor by servicing the poor with my tax dollars. Maybe you think we should do nothing for the poor? No minimum wage, no living wage, no food stamp assistance, no subsidized health? Unless you plan to do away with them all somehow you may be see communism or socialism, the REAL thing, some day.
