Receiving such information would merely be a continuation of the role of the mole. So I'd say the Gore gang is innocent on this one. Conjecture, however, is rampant. My best guess would be that someone in the Bush campaign, for whatever reason, became disgruntled and turned turncoat. My second best guess is that the sending of the debate materials was an attempted set-up by the Bush forces which didn't anticipate that Downey would turn the materials over to the FBI. The second theory would give Bush two things: a) a potential excuse for a poor Bush debate performance; and/or b) the possibility the Republicans could trip the Democrats much like what happened in Watergate, replete with a disclosure and full-scale accusations shortly before voting day. So much for my comments on the mole. Meanwhile, can anyone answer why it is that Fox News only features pretty blonde female Republican analysts during interviews? There's gotta be at least a half-a-dozen of 'em. Except for Mary Matlin, I don't think I've ever seen a brunette or red-headed female providing Republican analysis on Fox News. Is this former Republican stategist Roger Ailes'--now FoxNews news director--subliminal bid to help deliver the male vote on behalf of Bush? Or is this yet another Fox analyst Dick Morris--whose been paid on both both sides of the fence, but seems more Republican these days--extravaganza? I almost fell out of my seat when I heard Morris snubly proclaim that Bush can win by "stealing Gore's issues," a Morris quote. Anyway, why all them blondes? Anyone got a good answer? Thanks!
