jcholewa:

"Question: If AMD achieves "escape velocity" (definitely possible because of the subdued expectations and the fact that AMD, I'm told, likes to shoot up around that part of the year), what price do you realistically think it will reach by, say, November 3rd?"

Comment: If AMD meets its 3.6 million Athy target and looking forward maintains the Q4 7.2 million target, I'd say a test of $48.50, its all-time high is highly likely...Might meet minor resistance in the $35 to $38 range along the way, but no serious resistance until $45 to $48.50 range...A breakout above $50, the 5 year upper boundary, would be an exceedingly strong indicator, suggesting the possibility of a major upswing from there...

By November 3, assuming the positive surprises outlined above, I would think $48.50 might be a conservative target...

jcholewa Re..<<< Just an idle bit of curiosity. That day is my birthday, and I wouldn't mind waking up several thousand dollars richer by then. :)<<<<<<

That could happen but you are going to have to buy more than your usual 5 shares on margin. <ggg>
