Alcatel 7410 Broadband Access Server Now Supports LMDS Broadband Wireless Alcatel Enhances Business to Business Broadband Access Options PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 26, 2000--Alcatel (Paris:CGEP.PA) (NYSE:ALA - news) today announced that it has extended the functionality of its 7410 BAS (Broadband Access Server) to include broadband wireless access alongside its wire-line capability. The 7410 BAS now has the ability to aggregate and terminate traffic from an LMDS (Local Multipoint Distribution System) network. The 7410 BAS enables residential and corporate broadband service providers to offer high value-added IP services through the establishment of customized IP VPN and portal-based services.
