I don't buy first generation products. My new PDA will be a Visor, the new "GRAY COLOR" one due in October. Faster chip, new OS and more ram. I use to own a Palm III and currently own a Palm V.

The thing that makes the Visor the winner, is their Sringboard modules. With these tiny modules you can add whatever accessory to your PDA without making the unit larger:

Go to a computer store and see for yourself. (You may end up buying one)

With Palm you add a device that makes the unit twice as thick and heavy.

The guys who invented the Palm are now on their own again.....Handspring. They are very sharp people and I think the future looks bright for them. I think Palm should stick to OS and let Visor handle the hardware. Maybe a merger is in the works one day?

As for stock price, I don't have a clue. That's your job, since you are short.

Good luck.
