You forgot General Motors. They're around $185 Billion in annual revenues. What's GM's net margin? Gag! 3% How about some of the grocery store chains? Even worse.

Lucent. One of the most pathetic balance sheets I've laid eyes on in the last two years. Every metric is a mess. Dell's commodity business is tough, but they do it better than anybody else. However, growth has slowed and the PC cycle is mature.

It's quite a "valuation" vs. "what is the real value" issue - not only for Ariba, CommerceOne and i2, but also for other companies like Juniper, Redback, Extreme, Network Appliance, Brocade and a few other companies that are poised to be this decade's leaders.
