David - PALM's fiscal year seems odd to me. The next quarter runs only through November and will not include holiday sales in December. Holiday sales will be spread over two quarters, Sept-Nov and Dec-Feb, and their impact will be diluted, not concentrated in the Oct-Dec quarter as is the case with most companies. Finally, there is the curiosity that the quarter just reported runs through Sept 1, not the last day of the month.

Is there an angle here I'm missing?

BTW bought QCOM today and look forward to your posts on QCOM as I did on COMS/PALM.

David,

ML raised its Q2 rev estimate from $514.8 mil to $518 mil. FY01 rev estimate went from $1956.5 mil to $1986.4 mil. Not as enthusiastic as your numbers.

Hey but the analyst did raise the price target from $31 to $60. Less than three months ago, he thought 7x cal 2001E revenues was an appropriate valuation, now its 14x essentially the same revenue estimate. He's still not back to the March $65 target.
