Copper Mountain Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:CMTN), a leading provider of Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) solutions for business and residential users, today announced that it has been recognized as Silicon Valley's fastest growing company by Deloitte & Touche, a leading nationwide professional services firm. Deloitte ranked Copper Mountain first among five companies honored with the firm's "Rising Star" award, presented annually to up-and-coming technology companies that demonstrated exceptional growth between 1997 and 1999. Copper Mountain's revenues grew 53,324 percent, from $211,000 to $112.7 million, during the three-year period.
Deloitte announced its Rising Star Awards in connection with its announcement of 50 technology companies selected for recognition by the firm's Silicon Valley Technology Fast 50 program. The Fast 50 program annually identifies the Silicon Valley's 50 fastest growing companies, based their revenue growth over the previous five years. In announcing this year's results, Deloitte noted that Copper Mountain's three-year revenue growth exceeded the five-year revenue growth of top-ranked Fast 50 winner Yahoo! Inc.'s of 43,085 percent.
