Re: The whole market is SCREWED up and irrational...

Too bad StkWin's epiphany came AFTER losing
80% of his/her portfolio's value. I hate to hear
of this happening to anybody.

But it underscores a few important points about
investing that are worth repeating.

First, there is no such thing as a SAFE stock. Second,
the market does not value stocks rationally and third,
the analysts are indeed F.O.S.

John - another good argument for buy and hold... and also maybe for a little diversification. I have made some mistakes this year but am still up a few percent on the equity base YTD, and nearly 20% if options gains are included. I don't have any T but LU is the current worst dog in the kennel. Whatever this poor guy was doing, it is probably a case study in chasing your losses, catching falling knives, etc. Or maybe he was big into internet high flyers - I have a small position in a couple of those and they are currently down to 30% of what I bought them for, and 10% of their highs just a few short months ago.
