Does he pay the Saudi taxes (I think it was health care and a couple others)? Anyway, he gets the base US exclusion then can take credit for the Saudi taxes over that. And ARAMCO usually kicks in some more base to cover stuff to net no effective tax. But he isn't tax free unless he is a low peon. -g-

JHP, it's probably not US derived income. There is a deduction of 76k against foreign income. Saudi Arabia probably has a tax treaty with the US as well which means he has no US tax liability unless his taxes are less than the US rates. Of course he could just be a scofflaw. I must say, this is one law which deserves to be scoffed.
