The Newsweek poll always has Gore leading big. The sample size is only several hundred potential voters. I don't know how accurate it is. But it has a big impact on the voters. In 1996, the poll showed Clinton led Dole huge, so several Dole supporters I know didn't bother to vote. Because they told me Dole was trailing so much.
