F*** the lazy employees!!! They have too many of them and too much fat anyway. It is time to lay 50% of them off. The fat and CEO need to go together. This is an IBM type Dejavu. Great company, but piss poor management & too many people sitting around doing jack chit!!!

I disagree that LU's falling share price is reason for mutiny. Another Wall Street favorite, Tyco Intl., was neatly halved in autumn of 1999 amid accusations of accounting chicanery, and their stock has since fully recovered. While I am hardly an LU bull, I think the stock would have to plummet into the single-digits before the company's well-paid employees would start an uprising.

Tyco's near-fatal wound has taken nearly a full year to heal, and their has been no mass-exodus of employees or near-mutiny. When one works at a company such as Tyco or Lucent, a trunkating of the stock price is not quite the same catastrophic event as one would experience working at a web startup or other young company.

When one works for Lucent or Tyco, your salary comes first and options are just icing on the cake. When one works for a web startup or other young company, the options come first, and the salary is icing on the cake.

Also, I have a hard time believing that there are many LU employees with 50% of their 401K's allocated into company stock.

Runner -- <<"There are a lot of people who work at Lucent who have lost 50% of their 401 K this year.">> There are a lot of retired LU employees that are in the same boat... not fun..
