I should note, too, that some whisper number sites are better than others. www.whispernumber.com has been very crappy at times in the past. I think they are one of those that have tended to shoot up in the last week before a report on no news. I usually prefer to look up www.earningswhispers.com

For the record, right now WN suggests $0.65 and EW suggests $0.68. At the moment, these are both reasonable numbers that can possibly be beaten.

While I'm at it ... anybody who wishes to be unscrupulous is welcome to submit to either service that AMD will achieve breakeven this quarter. Amusingly enough, I think that this is the one way that this thread can very solidly have a chance to affect the stock price. <g>
