Goutama, Re: what do you think of KM133 mobos showing up in the Via's expo? I think they are pulling in their schedule with regards to chipsets for AMD cpus.

I don't think so. P3 boards with integrated Savage 3D graphics are already available, so AMD support is still lagging behind. The only advantage I see in this situation for AMD is that VIA and the motherboard manufacturers will already have experience with the integrated chipset which should shorten the time until introduction somewhat. I expect first KM133 Socket A boards in late November / early December.

KT266 is still another story: As suspected they weren't any motherboards shown on the VIA expo (only with AMD 760) while there were at least three Apollo Pro 266 (P3) boards. Since there are usually at least 2-3 months between first samples and production boards I don't think we will see any KT266 boards this year. Let's hope I'm wrong here...

Goutama,

Doesn't Ali's Integrated chipset for Durons/Thunderbords support DDR?

Mmmm... would it be possible that you confound with Sys's integrated chipset? I never heard of such a chipset...

Andreas, if you see this post - what do you think of KM133 mobos showing up in the Via's expo? I think they are pulling in their schedule with regards to chipsets for AMD cpus.

Andrea says late november, I say well before. Those mobo makers want to get the juice out of the Christmas season. Duron will reach higher volumes so there's a great market. I say late october with good availability for the Duron 800 launch around nov 15.
