Unfortunately, it is no news flash that US tax laws are a compliance nightmare. Anyone that gets into a situation more complicated than a kid working part time at the local grocery store is probably risking his future happiness if they don't at least talk to a tax bean counter. You can't even die in peace without knowing your relatives are going to have to clean up your lifeless tax carcass, too. -g-

I lived in Germany for a couple of years and didn't really find it a problem... perhaps because I was using an accountant at home anyway. I also had a 'German contract' and wasn't an 'expat'.
