Thanks for the comments. I always appreciate your insightful speculations into the mysteries of *licensing secrets*.

This looks like it may be a powerful combination for Sandisk and Toshiba, but it depends on how well they're able to do MLC at the smaller dimensions. Even without that, though, I'd think costs should shrink for Sandisk at the new fab.

I just checked the Hitachi website and they don't offer a 512Mb chip yet: semiconductor.hitachi.com

There's a couple white papers on that page that might be good reading but I haven't checked them yet.
