maverick, metsin and all those who sent me PM's, many thanks...it's obvious that many others feel as I do and while I respect the fact that people can reinvent themselves, the P&D days of Kim, Mogul and others are still fresh in my head and most here who have contested that view were simply part of that original scheme and are looking for a vehicle to regenerate that same P&D operation (i.e., make people feel warm and cozy with generalized mkt prognostications, sprinkle in a decent pick or two, then start the heavy pumping and dumping).

My only intent is/was to warn those who may either be new to SI or new to these sorts of schemes and trust me, they happen everyday and until folks fess up to prior sins and misdeeds, hard to believe that they've seen the light and reformed...maverick said it best when he stated:

"That was a classic pump and dump operation - there is absolutely no doubt about it. So, anyone who wants to dispute swiss on it is all wet. Mogul's past is tainted by being 2nd in command for Kim's pump and dump ring. As long as readers understand that going in, well - buyer beware."

OT Swiss, Mogul and the rest ... SI is like a soap opera - step away for a few months, and you undersand the plot the second you see the first five minutes!

For the record, as one of the "newbies" in late '99, I managed to gain 86% on my overall portfolio in 3 months based largely on the Cents and Sensibility thread. That thread, imo, simply stood at the vortex of a bizarre market. Coupled with some grain-alcohol fuelled pumping and dumping, several HUGE egos, a few very fake personas (Kimmie is a real mortgage banker living in NY, hanging with shoe designers and just doling out her unbelievable market savvy for free??, C'MON!) and a lot of bulls--t, that 90 day period was INSANE, but a lot of FUN! Well, the magic is gone.

That said, any "newbie" who got into or out of any stock based on the thread recommendation, did so of their own volition - they actually had to pay to get an SI account, sign up with a broker, send in money, and begin to "research" the stocks - that is a lot of work, and I am sure that any <sane> person who went through that process did not do so to just let "Kimmie" guide their every step.

Heck, I have lost about $20,000 on picks in the Angels of Alchmey thread in the past three weeks!! I do not accuse Kevin or the others on that thread of malice, but I am pissed that I actually came back, and put my hard earned money into ANY of the goofy stuff that I read on SI. Well, that is the last $20,000 lesson I intend to learn.

For those of you who have this DNA-level need for assurance that you are right, please understand - the rest of us who do not post 500 comments a year are not stupid little sheep who need guidance through the rocky shoals of the market. We, like you, are making and losing money based on our own judgement.

It is my personal belief that SI has become a joke. That is sad, because nine months ago, I thought it had some solid merit as a forum where ideas could be shared, and money could be made. Ugh. It sounds goofy even typing it . . .
