Imbeciles on parade

You know I imagine most of the guys making it to the screen on CNBC are fairly intelligent. But what amazes me is that try to profess knowledge of something they have no idea about. Exercise some judgement and say your not ready to provide any comments on a subject if your not ready.

Of course the guy this morning could be a complete buffoon and his comments were the result of serious studies he performed.

John Q. CNBC has found a new moron: Bert Dohmen

Someone needs to explain to that guy that oil reserves still in the ground take time and money to get it out.

John/OT. Sorry to hear that about old Bert.

When I was a broker with a major W.S. firm during the 80-82 bear market Dohmen and Granville(Wolanchuk) were hot and got some great timing and short sale ideas via them. My clients loved me, but eventually got in hot water with the office mgr because our firm had buy recs on almost every stock I was cleaning up on the short side with. Big confrontation eventually occurred and I quit the biz. Smartest thing I ever did, LOL.

Lotta folks who weren't working the markets full time back then have never been through a real bear market. 87' sure qualified in %age decline but the grinding month after month downside with failed rallies and then more downside is something this generation of brokers and mutual fund managers has had little experience with.

My guess? That lack of bear market experience will become painfully clear to average investors relying on their brokers (analysts) and Fund mgrs invest for and/or advise them during the 12 months directly ahead.

Yeah, I saw that too. Seth Tobias and Rick Schottenfeld are the two best guest-host guys on Squawk...they know their stuff and aren't afraid to fire strikes at guys who come on Squawk promoting a flawed agenda like Dohmen was trying to do.
