Well, the accounts that I have read of him as governor have been almost universally good, and what I have read of his tenure as managing partner of the Rangers has been good. Besides, the quality of the people around him, and presumably available to fill up cabinet and sub- cabinet posts, is outstanding........

I believe the consideration is that we DO know what kind of President Gore would be. It looks like any honest person with reasonable qualifications would be a step up. And, Bush fits that bill. So, Viva Bush!!!!!
