Jon. You are right. 2nd SPR release has to wait 60 days.

But markets usually discount these things in advance anyway. Look at what just happened. To take advantage of the recent action you had to:

1. Sell some stock on the excessively bullish sentiment and flaky tape action almost 2 weeks ago as discussed on the thread.

2. Stay with that cash as the sector dips and try to reenter somewhere near the low which in this case almost exactly coincided with the SPR release news. Doesn't always work that way, but it did this time. Always tricky to time these things short or even intermediate term.

So getting back to your point. Look for the stocks to roll over again when Goldman Sachs (Rubin) and the other favored few on W.S. get tipped off by administration insiders that the next Gore/Clinton announcement is in the pipeline.
