I'm not bad mouthing them ... I go to games ... but Rick they are facing some problems and the best thing for the team and fans would be for them to be sold ASAP!

>> No buyer would turn his back on 2.6 million ardent fans who came to Fenway Park this year, plus millions more New Englanders who love this team. Boston is the sixth largest market in the country. <<

This is the problem here ... these guys think it's a New England thing and have done a poor job of marketing to their fans all over the country that went to school here, worked or lived here @ one time or another or have retired in other parts of the country but still love their SOX.x

A buyer that sees the marketing op here will surely make money once they sell national rights to a major media outlet and market to fans nationally rather than regionally ... then they will be able to compete for the title year in and year out in stead of putting it all on the line every now and then. This year they spent a lot of $ to get to the playoffs on 2nd rate talent and they can't fix the problems (payroll) that they're left with.

Lots of savvy people lined up as well as unsavory types. The savvy Warren Buffet has an interest in the team through Dexter Shoe Co's ltd partnership interest and didn't I hear something about him retiring today (correct me if I'm wrong) ... hmmm, he knows how to market. Just look @ what he did with Dairy Queen!
