that would be pretty much the same thing as market share can be measured in units as well as dollars. They often say something like that it is $2 trillion dollar market and intel got 90% of it. Loosing high end would lower the $share.

Even if amd would gain market share but would not move to high end the effect on intel would be minimal and the effect on amd may not be that great either.
