chic, If Rambus has IP rights to DDR and DRDRAM, why aren't they doing the same validation process for DDR? Interesting idea. Once the dust settles, maybe they will! But only if JEDEC turns full ownership of the spec over to them and allows them the right to decide who can ship and who can't based on the results of the testing. I doubt that will happen. But you can see where the problem lies. Suppose JEDEC tried to set up a testing system like this. Would the members abide by it? Is there any recourse if they don't? As long as the answers might be "no", there are probably going to be DDR compatibility problems. JMO, Dave
