Yes, I listened to the EMC presentation made here in Boston in early Sept., and posted a review of their webcast which Yamakita had reposted to this thread.

EMC estimates the NAS submarket at ~ $2 billion, but their overall multi-submarket target is >$40 billion.

Nevertheless, the NAS space is growing faster than Storage overall. EMC thinks NAS is important, bought Data General, and is clearly targeting NAS. My question wasn't about the importance of SAN.

if and when EMC decides the NAS market is worth going after, I have no doubt they will envelope it just as they have the SAN market.

The question was how EMC will respond to a potential "disruptive technology" in this rapidly growing submarket which it has targeted?
