Sympathy selling or punishment?

Since INTC debacle started last Thursday, Intel has lost roughly 100 billion dollars of its market cap. This is equivalent to 12 AMDs ... at current valuations. Money managers holding big positions in INTC may sell AMD just to "prove" that this is a "market thing" rather than INTC's problems. Lots of money at stake.
