The new economic age you mentioned could be temporary as it has been caused by excess expansions of debts and money supply. Of course, the technological developments have been great and are also responsible in part for this new era. But at the source, it is the loose monetary policies that are reasons for the current bubble we live in. You gave the impression that Greenspan has retracted his pronouncements in his classic essay, "Gold and Economic Freedom". Where is the reference for that? On the contrary, I believe Greenspan is still very much a gold-bug and a believer in the gold standard at heart. Read his speech at fame.org. Has Greenspan retracted this speech, too? Caution: The speech and its accompanying commentary by Larry Parks is rather lengthy. So read it when you have lots of leisure time.
