JMHO, This weakness is all about fear, fear that huge telcos will slow spending because share prices are down well I got news for you folks they ain't buying the equipment with stock they pay ca$h and as far as i can see people are still making calls and using the Internet more than ever.

Bottom line CSCO ADCT AND NT are still going to move product because the thirst for Broadband is great and must be satisfied.

Then again if Bush wins we are all toast. LOL!

ACOM Comunicacoes S.A. Selects ADC for Multi-City Deployment of Broadband Wireless Services; $4 Million Contract Signed to Speed Deployment of Wireless Services to 10 Service Areas in Brazil
9/28/00 7:04:55 AM

MINNEAPOLIS, Sep 28, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- ADC (Nasdaq:ADCT; www.adc.com), a leading global supplier of fiber optics, network equipment, software and integration services for broadband, multiservice networks, today announced that ACOM Comunicacoes, Brazil’s first digital broadband fixed wireless operator, has purchased ADC’s MMDS solution for a multi-city deployment of wireless services. ADC’s technical team will deliver and install broadband MMDS transmission systems with SCADA real time network management and control systems in up to 10 Brazilian clusters (service areas covering a 15-20 mile radius), including Santos, Natal, Joao Pessoa and Maceio.

ACOM is a broadband fixed wireless operator providing digital pay-TV, high-speed Internet access and voice services in 53 cities in Brazil. ADC’s solution help enable ACOM to provide fully digital video services over the MMDS frequencies.

"ACOM is committed to its investment in the MMDS spectrum and intends to provide quality digital services to customers in 10 clusters within the next two years," said Paulo Areas, president of ACOM. "We chose ADC because it offers a flexible MMDS solution, years of network integration expertise and, for our next phase of growth, the Axity broadband wireless Internet access solution."

ADC’s broadband MMDS transmitter is a component of ADC’s Axity carrier-class broadband wireless solution, which has been chosen by providers such as WorldCom, Image Wireless Communications and Austar for pilots and deployments in the United States, Canada and Australia. ADC leverages 18 years of experience in MMDS radio frequency (RF) technology design and manufacture to provide a complete MMDS solution, including carrier-grade, standards-compliant hardware and software as well as complete network planning, design and integration services.

"ADC is pleased to have been recognized for its global reach and its commitment to providing flexible, quality broadband solutions," said John Frederick, vice president and general manager of ADC’s Broadband Wireless Access Division. "We look forward to working with ACOM as it deploys video services over fully digital MMDS systems throughout Brazil."
