How do you embrace a proprietary architecture owned by another company? Are you saying EMC will buy out NTAP, or are you saying NTAP will license its technology to EMC, or are you saying EMC will come up with its own proprietary architecture?

Hope it's the latter, but the Innovator's Dilemma makes the case that large, well financed companies repeatedly fail to duplicate or improve upon disruptive technologies, by which they are under attack from below.

For those that haven't read the book, The Innovator's Dilemma is very much worth it.
