Yes I can see that...the players had control over their ability to score goals and imaging helped almost as much as practise. But it would not necessarily win games, because then it would not be just that person but all the others interacting too.
OTOH had I written down my goal last year maybe I would have had the sense to cash in when I reached it last Jan (and again in early April)!
