Scumbria,

I have never advocated sending anyone to jail.

My comment was a general comment to all, but my question to you is "why not"? Shouldn't politicians be held to the same standards as the rest of us if they break the law? Is losing your job enough punishment? Should Chuck Quackenbush be allowed to move to Hawaii, have a great life, and forget the mess he created, for example (apologies to non-Californians who don't follow California politics)? If "regular" people are sent to jail for lying under oath, shouldn't a politician? Shouldn't Reagan be in jail if he committed a crime for which the average person would be jailed?

BTW: I doubt that we really want to know about a lot of things that Presidents have to do. They aren't hired to be nice guys.

Neither are corporate presidents. Or football players. Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. We don't have a right to see a company's strategic plans, nor the game plan for next Sunday's game, or know if they're cheating on their spouse, or whether they like watching pornography. But we and they all have to live by the laws of the land. No Sexual Harrassment and No Lying Under Oath are two of those laws.

Dave

p.s. On a lighter note, I think that the current commercials about "what if there were a land with no secrets" (or something like that) are hilarious. <G>
