david,

Not sure I agree...this is aimed at eliminating a bottleneck in web transactions, not about metering content and doesn't really affect the market Wave is targeting...JMHO.

Regards,

Richard B

Don't fret David

"The BCM5820 E-Commerce Processor is the first single-chip solution to provide all the cryptography and peripheral support necessary for high-performance SSL and Internet Key Exchange (IKE) encrypted connections."

Remember, humanity's greatest talent is lying - lying, collectively, lying in herds... :)

"The BCM5820 is packaged in a 256-pin TBGA and will sample to lead customers in October, with production quantities available in November. Sample quantity pricing is $200. For BCM5820 demonstration information at NetWorld + Interop, link to the Microsoft Partner Solutions Center Website at:
pavilion.microsoft.lexitech.com
hwShow=487576FC-373F-11D4-AAF2-00500422DC43."

Our WAVX Sample quantity pricing is orders of magnitude less and our Wave Chip comprises more features, frills, and functionality than BCOM'S colorless brand X chip...

Sincerely,
Marty

David, FWIW, two hundred clams for a security chip seems like a bucket full of bouillabaisse to me, particulalry since five smackers is arguably a hefty addition to a motherboard, even in massive Q. Methinks BRCM are not in competition with Wave Systems, who, BTW, are NOT in the chip sales business... they are first and foremost a SERVICE company.
