That is called accident which is not delibrate. Of course I am in favor of making auto's more safer for people within and outside the auto.
Now if you want to make an anology between auto and gun,
I am willing to incorporate technology within autos to prevent them from hitting anyone. Now can we say the same thing about NRAs position on guns (eg. smart guns that will fire only if owner is holding the gun).
The primary purpose of guns existence has been to maim and kill, in the name of defense or offense.
The primary purpose of autos is an altruistic one. To comfortably carry individuals from point A to point B. Accidents and killings by auto happen to be a by product.

If we take ALL guns out of everyone's hands, the effect will be beneficial.

If we take ALL autos out of everyone's hands, it will be a lot of inconvenience.

In other words Auto and Gun analogy is a very stupid one.

Now if you were to make a Gun and Nuclear Tipped Missile analogy, it is a different story.
