Sarmad: My only interest in oil is its uncanny correlation with economic slowdowns -- it is a great predictor. It is correlated -- not completely causal. Today the White House denied that oil would tip us into a "downturn". They know the evidence is there to suggest that a slowdown is in the works. The release of oil from the SPR was provoked by fear of recession and the political fallout. Whether we slow down from here on in is anybody's guess -- but until we have more direction, the pros will be selling. Good luck.
