Meridian, they are getting three SCR rigs from the Pioneer deal, plus a lease on a fourth. The newbuild rigs are Cabot 3000's from IRI - two each. Their quarterly statement said they paid $2.2mm down from cash with a total budget of $15mm for both. Looks like I was off by one rig when I said three. These Cabot 3000 rigs are the hottest thing going for deep SCR rigs as they drill to about 18,000 feet and can be moved easily in a couple of days. A buddy of mine at H&P says they are building twelve, and could use a pile more since they are the best thing going - no problem getting contracts. Sharp
