Re:In Stock, a Intel VC820 motherboard with 128MB PC800 RDRAM for $312.95 and free shipping

Heck, mishedlo, that's nothing, check this out:

822061 Retail Box VC820 "Vancouver" Support Pientium III up 933Mhz++ , 100 or
133MHz, 5 PCI slots, 2 184pin **RDRAM*RIMM*ONLY** SBlaster PCI 128, ATA 66 $60.00
http://www.centrix-intl.com/default.htm

That price includes include free FEDEX! And it's the retail box version with sound and a long warranty! About the only thing cheaper than a Rambus motherboard these days is a Pentium pro motherboard or a 486 motherboard.

They must really be popular! It's very clear that everybody wants one.

:-)

mishedlo:

Buy one, then try to get Slot 1 PIII microprocessor for it. You will be hard pressed to find any slot 1 PIII processors above 600 MHz available. I am not trying to bash RMBS's current RDRAM prospects but RMBS's investment value is in the SDRAM/DDR royalty payments it receives until the P4 becomes the Intel's standard business processor.
