The school I went to was on the edge of town. Several of us lived where we could hunt on the way home. Once we got cars we also took friends who lived on the other side of town so 20 minutes each way could really cut into the hunting time. Not much daylight after 3pm in the fall.

This wasn't willy nilly everybody bring a gun. We did have to get permission from our home room teachers in advance. It was considered a privilege so we were on our best behavior.
