Good thread...and good points with which concur...looks like it's time to consolidate basket of PVTL and ONXS. I was originally thinking that disruptive twister was forming from below. Looks like just a water spout perhaps.

During that oh-so-awful CNBC interview recently (with Steve Frank I believe), Tom mentioned that SEBL was the mkt leader in the mid mkt, with greater than 50% mkt share (the mkt defined as the sum of revenues of all the major mid mkt CRM vendors). As I recall, he mentioned PVTL and ONXS by name.

Tom also took responsibility for not properly communicating SEBL's position in the mid mkt for CRM to the analyst community. He said that he would correct that. It's been my experience that such breakdowns in communication are rare for Siebel. It will be very interesting to hear Tom, Paul, and Ken (Goldman, new CFO) talk about the mid mkt business during this quarter's call.

Speaking of Ken Goldman, can anyone provide any perspective on the impact of Siebel's having a new CFO at this point (run rate surpassing $1B and growing at 100%+) in its corporate history?

My thought is that Goldman's addition will be a net positive for the mgmt team, as he is a "major league" CFO. I was never comfortable with Graham, due to his IFMX and WYSE history.
