QCOM - Qualcomm $73.38 +3.38 s/l $67.75

Shares of Qualcomm, added to our play list 9/17, finally gave us
the respect that we had been looking for. China Unicomm Ltd, the
country's No. 2 mobile phone service operator, announced this
morning that it had acquired a cellular network that uses code
division multiple access, or CDMA technology, a standard
developed by Qualcomm. Volume spiked in the issue on the news and
came in at 18.8 million shares, or 4.2 million above normal.
Shares moved above their 5 & 10 dma on a closing basis, and with
the recent revitalized interest in the wireless sector, we would
expect more in the short term from this wireless handset leader.
MACD in the issue is positive and above the trigger line, and we
would look for more of today’s price movement in the next few
trading days, with the next resistance coming in the 75-77 area.
