IMO the environment in which the 'crops' are growing has changed so much in a generation it would be impossible to study whether the 'crop quality' has truly deteriorated or if the environmental changes makes it appear so.

Well the cops appear a bit like Dirty Harry's here in the US, I feel very intimidated when I am stopped in a car.
Especially when I was stopped the first time and didn't know the rules and opened the door, like I used to do in Germany. The cop didn't like it and almost hat his hand at his gun. You have got to play be the rules.
