It's hard not to get uppity when you've had an astounding track record. I for one am grateful for the contribution that science has provided us. You merely have to look at how people live when all they have is their beliefs without the predictive power of rudimentary science. I think it would be terrible to only have fear and ignorance as your companions. Your only alternative to defeat is hope. That's sad. I want to arm people against adversity with tools that have proven effect. I agree with X that the Buddhists seem to capture the essence of a truth-based religion -- theirs is consistent with the search for truth. Truth should not be at odds with religion. If it is then something is terribly out of whack! How can something that is true, not be part of the Great Truth?
