"This news will likely tank AMD or send it sky high."

The AMD tanking has run its course. AMD at $25 already reflects a disastrous Q3 and Q4 and Y2001. Leaves only one way to go, especially if Q3, Q4 and Y2001 are not so disastrous. I agree with you that it won't be in the $25 range much longer. Don't see much downside, unless AMD reports bankruptcy in Q3, as that's about the only negative that isn't currently factored into its price...

Chic,

On hearing the INTC warning I immediately sent some cash off to my DATEK account for investment in AMD. It arrived in my account today.

I had bought a few shares at 26 1/4 but sold half of those today at $25+...bought DROOY instead -g-

My thinking was that margin calls on INTC news would cause a sell off for a few days. It's turning out to be more complex then that.

Anyway, I will be buying AMD with all the available cash I have left. Some of it before the earnings and some of it after. It's just a matter choosing the buy in points. Buying the stock higher is not a problem at all...once a trend has definitely set in.

I am sure that Dresden is going to provide some extra upside. The press has them shipping product on June 5th and manufacturing top of the line copper Athlons.

Germany is determined to build up a strong economy and AMD Dresden is an important play for them. The weak euro has played a beneficial role for AMD too IMHO.

The posts and links on this board enforce that point.

I see a breakout stock here if the market holds together.
Even if it tanks I see AMD as a strong stock leading recovery. It's just a matter of out-guessing the scalpers and weak hands.

Soooo, It's a matter of picking up AMD at the best points. I'm thinking $20 and $15 at the moment. I sincerely hope loads of daytraders and suchlike short AMD 'cause of the INTC warning and "weakness in Europe" <BG>

BTW, I just found out that DATEK does options now too. Would have really liked to buy a few puts to hedge my longs during April and May. Etrade let me down. Just ordered my DATEK options application form. Hopefully I won't get the same B/S as I did from Etrade.

rgds all,

pearly.
