I have to laugh...........Athletes go for gold in bed, condoms rushed in SYDNEY, Sept 28 (Reuters) - Athletes at the Sydney Olympics are going all out to be winners in bed as well as in the sports arena. That is the verdict of Ansell, official supplier of condoms for the Games, after the company rushed in an extra 20,000 on Wednesday night to cope with demand in the athletes' village before the 17-day Olympics close on Sunday. ``Judging by the demand the medal tally is certainly rising both in and out of the sporting arena,'' said Ansell spokesman Burton Van Rooyen. Nearly 80,000 condoms had been distributed within the village up to Wednesday, leaving just 20,000 before the extra supplies were sent in. The condoms are handed out free in the village, home to some 16,000 athletes and officials. Condoms called LifeStyles Sport were proving popular, as were others with peppermint green studs and strawberry ribbing. Van Rooyen said the company was meeting requests from some athletes for larger condoms.

I just don't want to see the formal debates replaced by George and Laura chatting amiably with Larry King, sipping coffee while Larry throws out some softball questions. Yes, there's room for such, and the field is widening, i.e., Al on MTV yesterday. (By the way, both of my kids watched Al on MTV last night instead of other options on the boob tube.) However, we also need formal debates. After watching George on King, I can see why he held out so long for that style of interview as opposed to the formal debates. If George can maintain a low-key, folksy air in the formal debates, that will help him. What will hurt him is if he reverts to his sneering, sarcastic style. If Gore is smart, he will attempt to anger GWB early on.
