This is encouraging. Zogby is usually about as accurate as polls get.

George W. Bush is continuing to outpace Al Gore in the latest presidential polls.
The latest Zogby America poll, released Monday, has Republican Texas Gov. Bush at 43.9 percent, Democrat Vice President Gore at 42 percent, Green Party's Ralph Nader at 3 percent, and Reform Party's Pat Buchanan and Libertarian Party's Harry Browne at less than 1 percent each. Ten percent were undecided.

The poll, of 1,003 likely voters, was conducted Sept. 19 through Saturday.

Gore continued to suffer a gender gap. Men supported Bush over Gore by 16 points, 52 percent to 36 percent, while women backed Gore over Bush by 10 points, 47 percent to 37 percent.

Bush also improved in the lastest Gallup poll, also released Monday.

That poll had Bush at 47 percent, Gore at 44 percent, Nader at 2 percent and Buchanan at 1 percent. The survey, of 718 likely voters, was conducted Friday through Sunday. Its margin of error was four points.

Gallup's previous three-day average, from Thursday through Saturday, had Bush at 47 percent, Gore at 46 percent.
