OT: The CHTR board is so infrequently visited that I believe it appropriate to post this message here. Carolyn and others who may be interested in CHTR, please note. I saw on CNBC that in after hours trading CHTR had climbed more than $2 but could find no explanation why. There was no news release and it was not discussed on CNBC. As I started to write CHTR was $2 above today's closing. Finally, I saw a news item saying that CHTR was registering additional shares. The explanation lies in the details, not the headline. Apparently, when PA acquired a cable company from the Rifkins, he agreed that at some point he would purchase their shares in CHTR for $20 per share when requested. To facilitate the transaction, the shares had to be registered. Hence the registration of those shares. Of course, the Rifkin interests need not sell to PA. They may opt to hold out for even higher prices for the newly registered shares.
