Zeev,

John, in fairness, the gentleman must have implied that the plastic combustion products (phenolics and all) are unpleasant and toxic. By the way, if Si was getting to the combustion level, the resulting SiO2 when inhaled, causes "silicosis", an unpleasant lung infliction.

Indeed he must - but the gentleman in question is always so particular about accuracy and he is never happy for anything to be implied from his posts that was not actually written therein.

I feel that for the silica production to reach a dangerous level the devices would have to be exploding so frequently that their demise would sound like a machine gun firing.
