No, I did not see the sentence that you had in mind. Sorry.

Let's assume that you are correct in both your points: (1) that "virtual" cannot be applied to a "connection" at all. What is a "virtual" network effect? Is that different from a "direct" network effect? If so, how? Is it important? and (2) that the well established engineering meanings of positive and negative feedback are preferable to the social scientific definitions. Can you share those well-defined definitions? Can we use those definitions in place of my apparently inept suggestions?

I love critics who can help me out. As the song lyric has it, "teach me tonight." Otherwise, I will just feel dumb and directionless?
