doesn't a drop of 9% on 3.5 times this year's average daily volume and on 5 times last 3 months' average daily volume scare you? i think 100 times earnings is based on never losing a big Korean contract to ciena. so when that happens, lotsa guys drop out. prices are based on perception, and losing a big contract changes one's perception of nt. they're not saying it's not an absolutely super company led by one of the most talented ceo's ever; they're saying 100 times earnings doesn't allow for any disappointment at all. if they have all changed their minds and decide that nt is not so good that it is worth ANY price, no matter how high; there's nothing we can do about it - even though we are ready to pay 100 times, 200 times, 1000 times earnings. a mercedes (or, you name your own)is maybe the best car, but would you pay $1,000,000 for one? well, we gotta get some ciena buyers over here; they're paying 606 times earnings. that multiple would put nt at 500 a share. ain't that pretty: nt at 500 a share.
very long nt, and quaking in my boots.
