I'm inclined to think tax-selling won't be a big problem, because if you're planning to sell before the end of the year anyway, and you see the stock tanking like this, wouldn't you just go ahead and pull the trigger?

At least, that's what I'm hoping!

The problem with GBT is right there at the top of the Press Release. Vancouver BC, American Stock Exchange.

Are you guys sure this is a legitimate company?

Peter

Looks like indeed once the "window dressing" was over, the stock rebounded, though I must confess, it has had a smaller bounce than I had hoped for. October is a month of institutional tax loss selling (until Oct 31), so there may still be pressure. In general, I think the pressure on GBT should persist all year, since after the institutions are done tax-loss selling, individuals take over later in the year. But for now, GBT is enjoying a respite, having moved up some 20% from the intraday low of $4.4 back in the last days of Sept. Still, I personally don't see much of a sustained climb until January of 01 (this is assuming the market doesn't collapse in 01!).
