To the thread: Would anyone comment on the rather sharp price cuts by DELL this afternoon. It seems that this time it is very different from the 'business as usual' price cuts. Low end Xeon based servers were cut less than 20%, but the high end Xeon servers had their price cut more than 40%. If Xeons were still in such short supply, this move would seem to me to be idiotic. And, in spite of my constant criticism of DELL, I don't they that they're idiots.
