Price cuts making headlines are a bullish sign IMO.

If we go back a little ways, we see that over the
last year as Dell's growth curve flattened out,
price cut announcements virtually disappeared.
Prior to that when Dell was growing in excess of
40%, price reductions were regularly making headlines
almost weekly on Yahoo.

The ironic thing is that back when Dell was regularly
dropping prices, the bears continually claimed it
was an act of desperation, they were losing mkt
share, could not compete etc. etc.

Wether this is a sign of trouble or not we wont know
for a while. But history would suggest that this
is indeed a bullish sign and that the component
pricing environment has turned to Dell's favor.

We all know how Dell's model takes advantage of this
situation. I think what many failed to realize was
just how sensitive and vulnerable Dell's growth
model was to supply constraints. Now we know. It's
not that bad and they don't loose money... they just
don't grow very fast.
